Night at the Museum

Although I am not one of those girls who dream about their prom night, there were two reasons that I went to prom this year. One being that I found the most beautiful dress, and two being that I was nominated for prom queen. I don't know if any of you remember my post from a few weeks ago where I said that I found a vintage 1920s flapper in my grandmother's room, well here it is. What do you think? I thought I would add a few personal touches by wearing some of my great grandma Grace's vintage items. She wore the headband to a dance in the 20s and the bracelet was hers too. In order to make the day a little more special, Wil and I took pictures at her house, which is now an abandoned, historical landmark. It was perfect.

Besides the dress, I had to go to the dance because it was required for prom court. I'm not popular, I don't have the most school spirit, and I tend to do my own thing, so I was not all that thrilled when I heard the news. Since teachers nominate the prom court, I guess they realized my hard work and dedication. Too bad it earned me a night of embarrassment in front of a majority of my school. I have never been a fan of large crowds or dancing, however I had to face both of these things. To make matters a little bit worse, my school is not like others that announce the prom court and then just crown the king and queen on stage. Instead, I was paired with the star basketball player instead of Wil, and then had to dance with him in the middle of everyone until the all of the losers were tapped out one by one just like a dance contest. At least I had a fantastic dress and handsome date for the night.
Until next time, Mandy

  17. You look absolutely stunning! That is the greatest prom dress...ever. I'm sure you looked absolutely magical in a sea of cheesy colors & (let's face it) not-so-modest dresses.
I never went to my prom because I'm ALSO not a fan of large crowds and pretty much everyone I went to high school with ;)
