Best Deal Ever

Early morning Starbucks before the estate sale.
I usually know where I'm going when I'm driving, but I thought I would plug the address of the estate sale in the garmin. Oh boy was that a bad idea. It turns out that the house was only about 10 minutes from where I live, but the gps took me for a half hour drive that ended up on the highway. It's safe to say that I will no longer be trusting directions from the garmin. These crazy directions left me somewhat irritated and pessimistic about the estate sale... but my mood instantly changed when I went inside.
Two rooms full of vintage clothes, what could be better? I immediately started rummaging through the racks and my pile kept growing larger and larger. At first, I just wanted to pull everything that I found interesting so nobody else could take it. I told myself that there was no way that I could buy all of these things. The woman working stored my clothes so I could keep on looking, which was fine because I knew that I was going to minimize my pile later. The sign said that all vintage clothes were $20, but then they were marked down to $10. Even though $10 is a great price, my pile of 11 items would have cost me $110 and I just did not have that much money with me. When I went downstairs to pay, they counted all of my items and said they would make me a deal. $2 a piece! Can you believe that??? I was in shock. Actually, I still am. Dresses, shirts, coats, pants, headbands, and a ring (14 vintage items) all for $28. My grandma took them home to clean, but I can't wait to actually see what I bought since I just grabbed whatever I could find. I know that some of the dresses need hemming, but that's okay because my sewing lessons begin this month. I will be sure to put up pictures when I get my clothes back.
After the sale, we went out to breakfast at Honey Jam cafe. Isn't my yogurt pretty? I couldn't resist taking a picture. Shortly after breakfast, it was off to the movies. I have been talking about The Artist since it first came out, but I finally saw it yesterday and loved it. I loved Jean Dujardin's expressive eyebrows and amazing dance moves (well actually I just love him). I loved Berenice Bejo's effortless beauty. And most of all, I loved the 1920s style. That has always been one of my favorite fashion eras. I was drooling over the clothing the whole movie. If only we could all dress like that today. I would much rather look at a man in tails and a bow tie than look at his boxers because his pants are three sizes too big. I never understood how that became a look. Since today's style is not changing, I will just have to wish that I lived in old movies. Have any of you seen Le Demoiselles de Rochefort? It's the next movie on my list to see. A 1960s french musical with impeccable style sounds perfect to me.
Until next time, Mandy
