I'm sorry about the lack of outfit posts lately. I go to a catholic school, so I am in uniform five days of the week. Let me just tell you, my green plaid skirt is not all that attractive. I should have some more free time next week after I write my english paper. There will be more outfits coming soon, because I just bought a bunch of great clothes, including a sale jacket from Anthropologie.

Cracker Jax

One of the other stores that I visited on my trip to DeKalb was Cracker Jax. I would describe this store as an incensed, Bohemian heaven. It's somewhat of an organized mess with fabric and light fixtures hanging from every inch of the ceiling. I don't always find something to buy, but I do like to visit it because it gives me a freeing feeling. This time I did find a colorful, vintage Afghan blanket. Right now it is at the dry cleaners, but soon it will liven up my white duvet.

Vintage Shoes

My new pair of vintage shoes. Aren't they cute?

Here are the last of my Moxie pictures, lots and lots of vintage shoes! I only own two pairs of vintage shoes, a pair of boots and the black ones pictured above. My feet are size nine and I almost never find any size nine vintage shoes, but I love to look at them anyway. Tomorrow I will share pictures from another vintage/resale store I recently visited.

Moxie Part Two

 

Here are some of the vintage clothes from Moxie. I bought the floral dress above. I plan for it to be my first real sewing project, I already fixed my mittens and put purple pockets on a sweater. This dress is quite long, it hits right above my ankles. But while in the dressing room, I rolled up the ends and it looks great at about mid-thigh. I am going to attempt to shorten it and I hope I succeed because I loved the way it looked with my orange tights and brown shoes. Wish me luck.

Moxie Part One

As you can see, I was feeling very colorful today.

Today I took a trip into the country to visit Moxie, my favorite vintage store. I have been shopping here for about four years now and it is absolutely amazing. The downstairs is full of fun, colorful, whimsical gifts, but once you walk up the stairs, you enter into vintage clothing heaven. The clothes are in top shape and are reasonably priced. I rarely ever walk out empty handed. Today I hit the jackpot and bought three dresses, two sweaters, and a pair of shoes. Vintage shoes never ever fit me, but to my surprise, a darling black pair fit perfectly. I went kind of picture crazy, so I will post a few different segments over the next couple of days. I will be sure to include my great finds!

Noir et Rouge

I spent the day in Naperville with my aunt and Wil. We had a nice lunch at a Greek buffet, browsed around a bookstore, and got a hot coffee. We returned home and played a very heated game of cards. Apparently, I take cards very seriously. At the moment, we are watching the Golden Globes; I don't find it as entertaining as I normally do, but I now know that I really want to see The Artist. I'm off to play another round of cards.

Makeshift Button

This is going to be a quick post today since I did not do much. I woke up early to get my tires changed and then grabbed a quick lunch. Nothing all that special. Here's a couple photos of my outfit. Unfortunately, my blazer does not button closed, so I decided to pin a small button on it. I liked the way it turned out. I'm looking forward to my vintage shopping day on Monday.
